How to connect ArtisanClo to your Keitaro

ArtisanClo plugs into your Keitaro as a stream filter and tells it, for every visit, whether a person or a bot is behind it. Campaigns, streams and URLs stay in Keitaro — only who reaches the offer changes.

How a visit flows

Keitaro asks ArtisanClo before answering the visitor, and your streams decide where the visit goes.

A visit from an ad link

A person or a reviewer clicks the ad.

Your Keitaro campaign

The visit enters the campaign and reaches the offer stream.

ArtisanClo filter in the offer stream

The filter asks ArtisanClo: person or bot.

Offer stream

A person passes the filter and follows your stream to the offer.

Bots, reviewers and spy services fall through to the next stream — the White Page.

How to connect

Four steps in the ArtisanClo dashboard and in Keitaro. Your Keitaro streams set the offer and White Page URLs — the ArtisanClo flow's own URLs are not used.

  1. 01

    Download the filter file

In the ArtisanClo flow's connection window, pick the Keitaro filter and download this flow's file.

  2. 02

Put it on the Keitaro server

The folder is /var/www/keitaro/var/filters, or application/filters in older versions. Then reload Keitaro.

  3. 03

Add the filter to the offer stream

In the Keitaro campaign, open the offer stream and add the filter named like the file in “Yes” mode.

  4. 04

Place the White Page stream below

Everyone the filter does not let through to the offer goes there.

What ArtisanClo adds to your tracker

Keitaro keeps routing traffic with its campaigns and streams. ArtisanClo answers one question — who is behind the visit — and explains the answer.

  • A trust score for every visit

Network, device and browser signals add up to a trust score; VPNs, proxies, data centers and robot browsers are caught along the way. On the Keitaro filter the score rests on the network and the request.

  • Shared memory of bots

When an ad-review service, a platform robot or a program posing as a browser is identified with certainty in any account, its next visit to your flow gets the White Page at once. Real people with a doubtful network, a VPN or no JavaScript never go into this memory.

  • Shield and auto-shield

While a review is running, only visits with the platform's click ID — fbclid, gclid, ttclid and more — reach the offer. Auto-shield raises the shield on its own when review traces spike above the usual level.

  • A reason for every decision

Each click in the log carries one of 83 reasons, and its breakdown shows at which step the visit was stopped — you see which check fired, not just that one did.

Start in shadow mode

See whom the filter would cut on your traffic before it cuts anyone.

  1. 01

    Start the free trial

The Keitaro filter is available on it.

  2. 02

    Create a flow in ArtisanClo

Pick the traffic source, and in the connection window choose the Keitaro filter.

  3. 03

Add the filter in shadow mode

Turn shadow mode on for 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours: everyone reaches the offer, and the log shows whom the filter would have cut. It switches off on its own when the time is up.

  4. 04

    Switch filtering on

When the decisions look right, bots start going to the White Page stream.

If you'd rather not run a tracker server

ArtisanClo has a tracker built in. In “Cloaking + Tracker” mode the flow itself counts clicks, spend, conversions, profit and ROI and takes postbacks from affiliate networks — with no server of your own.

Frequently asked questions

01

How does ArtisanClo work inside Keitaro?

The filter file sits on your Keitaro server. When a visit reaches the offer stream, Keitaro asks ArtisanClo whether it's a person or a bot; a person continues down the stream, everyone else drops to the White Page stream below. If part of your traffic runs through Binom, ArtisanClo plugs into it as a gate in the landing.

02

Do I need to install ArtisanClo on my own server?

No. ArtisanClo runs in the cloud; only the filter file goes onto your Keitaro server. You don't touch domains or DNS.

03

What happens if ArtisanClo doesn't answer?

If our service does not answer within 3 seconds, the visit goes to the White Page. Without an answer it never reaches the offer.

04

Will my Keitaro streams work as before?

Yes. Your streams decide where the visit goes: the offer and White Page URLs are set in Keitaro, and ArtisanClo only answers whether the visit may go to the offer.

05

Where can I see why a visit was turned away?

In the ArtisanClo click log: every visit has its reason, and the click breakdown shows the step where it was stopped. The decision is made from the network and the request — this method has no check page.

06

Can I test the filter without losing traffic?

Yes. Shadow mode works on the Keitaro filter: for 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours everyone reaches the offer, and the log marks whom the filter would have cut. It switches off on its own when the time is up.

07

Which plan includes the integration?

It works from the free trial and on paid plans. Paid plans are paid in cryptocurrency, and clicks are not billed.

08

Can I move to the built-in tracker later?

Yes. Switch the flow to “Cloaking + Tracker”, and ArtisanClo counts clicks, spend, conversions and ROI itself. While you keep Keitaro, select it as the flow's external tracker, and CR and revenue show up in the cloaking statistics.
