Google Ads cloaking with a gclid-aware filter
Google's crawlers, ad reviewers and bots see a neutral White Page; real people who clicked your ad see the offer. Every decision is logged with its reason, and the built-in tracker counts the campaign's money.
Who opens your ad
Your ad link is opened by more than buyers. Here is what ArtisanClo does with each of them, and the reason you will see in the click log.
Google ad-check robot
AdsBot and Google's ad checks open the landing page with their own crawlers — with the shield up or down.
Reviewer without an ad click
Opens the landing page in a regular browser, with no gclid in the link. While the shield is up, they never see the offer.
Server traffic without JavaScript
A scanner or scraper from a server network that does not run JavaScript. The Google profile requires it, so the visit stops here.
Already-known reviewer
An address identified as a bot or reviewer in any account on the service gets the White Page at once — no checks, no delay.
A real person from your ad
Arrives on a click with gclid, wbraid or gbraid — from Search, Display or YouTube.
A decision in a fraction of a second
- Search or platform crawler
- Shield: no paid click id
- Server traffic without JavaScript
- Known bot address
With the shield up — a pause of about 2 seconds on the tag and PHP file, then the offer.
A Google Ads profile out of the box
Pick Google Ads as the traffic source when you create a flow, and protection tunes itself to the platform. Every switch can still be changed by hand, and when the profile changes, the dashboard shows what was and what will be.
- 30
- warm-up clicks
- the first checks after launch go to the White Page
- 2
- clicks per IP a day
- at the “Balanced” level
- yes
- JavaScript required
- Google passes gclid, so JavaScript can be required
- gclid
- click ID
- and wbraid, gbraid, gad_source
Warm-up, the per-IP click limit, the shield and auto-shield come with Professional and are open on the trial.
A shield for the review period
While the campaign is under review, only visits with gclid, wbraid, gbraid or gad_source in the link get through to the offer. Reviewers, forwarded links and direct visits get the White Page.
- 01
Campaign launch
The flow's first 30 clicks go to the White Page without checks — that is the warm-up.
- 02
Review traces
Auto-shield watches the flow: say, 9 reviewers arrive within 3 hours where there are usually none.
- 03
Shield goes up
Within 15 minutes the shield goes up for 6 hours. Everyone without a click ID sees the White Page.
- 04
Decision in the log
Every such visit is logged with a reason, so you see who was kept out and why.
Google click IDs and campaign money
ArtisanClo is a tracker too. The Google Ads template already knows Google's macros: keyword, campaign, creative, placement, network and match type land in your reports on their own, with no manual tagging.
{keyword}{campaignid}{creative}{placement}{network}{matchtype}Spend, profit and ROI
By campaign, keyword, creative, offer and GEO — right next to the filter's decisions.
Conversions back to Google Ads Professional
Directly through a service account from your own Google Cloud, or with no keys via a scheduled file: leads and sales for 90 days on clicks with gclid.
Spend from Google Ads Business
Every morning the last 3 days of spend are pulled in. You need the Google Ads account ID and a developer token.
Live in a few minutes
Your site and domain stay with you, and DNS stays untouched.

One line of the JS tag in <head>, or one PHP file in the landing page root.

Copy the flow's ad link into Google Ads — Google's macros are already in it.

Frequently asked questions
01Does ArtisanClo guarantee that my Google ads will be approved?
No, and no tool can honestly promise that. ArtisanClo filters crawlers, bots and reviewers it can identify and shows them a White Page; approval is still Google's call. Every decision is visible in the click log, so you can see exactly what happened.
02What does a Google reviewer see?
A White Page — a neutral page at your ad address. Take a ready design from the catalog, where AI writes the copy for your niche, or use a page of your own. The offer stays hidden from them.
03What is the shield, and do I have to turn it on by hand?
While the shield is up, only visits with gclid, wbraid, gbraid or gad_source in the link reach the offer; a referrer alone is not enough. You can raise it yourself for a launch or leave it to auto-shield: when review traces spike — say, 9 reviewers in 3 hours where there are usually none — it goes up within 15 minutes for 6 hours. Available from Professional and on the trial.
04Why do the first 30 clicks go to the White Page?
That is the warm-up. A fresh campaign is checked first, so the flow's first 30 clicks see the White Page without checks. The number can be changed in the flow settings.
05Why does the Google profile require JavaScript?
Google passes a click ID, and almost all of its traffic comes from regular browsers that run JavaScript. Simple bots and scrapers do not, so they trip over this check. Like every switch in the profile, it can be turned off by hand.
06Does it work for YouTube and Display campaigns?
Yes. Google Search, GDN and YouTube share one recipe: the same connection methods, the same Google Ads profile and the same shield.
07Do I need to move my site or change DNS?
No. Your pages and domains stay where they are. You add one line of code to <head> or one PHP file; on Professional and above, the WordPress plugin or the Cloudflare worker also work.
08Can I test the filter without losing traffic?
Yes, in shadow mode on the PHP file: every visitor still reaches the offer, and the click log shows whom the filter would have cut. Switch the filter on once you are happy with what you see.
09How do I send conversions back to Google Ads?
Two ways, both from Professional. Directly, with your account number and a service account key from your own Google Cloud. Or with no keys at all: paste a scheduled file address into Google Ads, and it picks up leads and sales for the last 90 days on clicks with gclid.
10Can spend be pulled from Google Ads?
Yes, on Business. Add the Google Ads account ID and a developer token, and every morning the last 3 days of spend are imported, so ROI is counted without manual input.
